What is the Appropriate Size of a Banner Stand Display?

Banner Stand displays are an effective marketing tool for such events as trade shows. They are many types of banner stands available to meet every advertiser’s needs. The key to creating an effective banner stand is making sure you have the appropriate size and design.

Banner display stands are used to display an advertisement, marketing message, or a company logo. They are built for easy set-up and display. They are available in many sizes and styles. For a banner stand to be effective, it must be able to be seen from a distance. The stand must be noticeable and grab one’s attention. It should also be big enough to communicate the brand message, logo, and any graphics one will use. The purpose is to communicate to the public that the product and service is worth the time exploring.

Banner stand display come in a variety of sizes. Units can range from approximately 2 feet wide to 6 feet high t or as big as 4 feet by 8 feet. They can even have extensions attached to make them even larger. The size of the stand that you choose will depend on the type of event you will be setting up your display. You will have to consider such aspects as the room where you will be setting up your display, your budget, the number of vendors setting up the display, the type of event being held, any restrictions the trade show may implement regarding the type of stands that are permitted, how you will transport the banner stand to the event, what will be featured on the display stand such as graphics, lettering, illustrations, and size of the message, and whether the stand will be indoors or outdoors.

There are three types of banner displays that are generally used. The ‘traditional’ banner stand’ is a mounted piece at the top and bottom with a tension bar. The second type of banner display stand is known as the ‘roll up’ banner stand. With a roll up stand, there is a canister where you unroll the display. There is a tension rod that holds the display in place. When done, you just remove the rod and roll it back up. The “X banner” is the third type of banner display stand. The frame is in the form of an ‘X’. This type of display allows for easy change of graphics and you can adjust the size of the display

Banner stands are a cost effective and excellent tool for advertising and promoting a product or service.  You will often see banner display stands at trade shows, exhibitions, in a store as an advertising display, and they are used for giving presentations. Most are lightweight and easy to transport. The size will depend on the event that you are using the display for such as at a big trade show or in a small store.

Banner stand displays are an effective method of spreading the message about your product and service. There are many online retailers that offer banner display stands to meet your every need. Before attending your next promotional event, consider acquiring a banner stand display.

The Benefits of Point of Sale Systems are Becoming More Apparent

By Amy Nutt

The early days of using a cash register and pen and notebook for accounting and processing transactions are no longer an effective means of keeping up with today’s advancements in business technology. In order to stay competitive businesses have to adapt and change with emerging technologies. A technological advancement that businesses are now using is the point-of-sale (POS) system. They are now realizing the many benefits POS have on their businesses.

The following are the many benefits of utilizing point of sale systems:

1. POS systems provide a business with a real-time detailed report of sales. This allows businesses to assess what products are being sold and what products are lagging in sales. The business can then implement marketing strategies to boost sales of the popular products. They will also know in real-time what is not selling so they can decide whether or not to order that product. A POS system provides the latest sales reports for the day, week, month, or year.

2. POS allows for improved customer service. Transactions are processed much quicker, item that are scanned for their price are accurate which lessens sales discrepancies.

There is also a wide selection of methods to take payments such as credit cards, debit cards, gift cards…etc.

3. POS provides an efficient method of managing inventory. By being able to view in real time what is selling, they will be able to reorder products that are running low. POS software will also let you know when you need to reorder a product. Businesses can also keep track of the time of day that certain products are selling so they can arrange marketing displays around peak selling times. As well, businesses will spend less time on paperwork, accounting, inventory management, sales record keeping, as well as managing such programs as marketing, special advertising programs, loyalty programs, discount programs, and much more.

4. POS allows for the management of gift cards, coupons, and loyalty programs. This is effective way of monitoring the program and keeping track of the success of the programs.

5. POS systems and software is easy to learn. Most POS sellers will train staff and management on how to use the system. It is also easy to install and maintain. As well, POS software can be integrated into other applications so that all areas of business management can be viewed in one central place. It gives the user better control of the business. As well, technical support is only a phone call away.

6. POS retail software makes it easier to keep track of customer personal information, staff payroll, customer billing and shipping, vendor listings, and inventory management.

The many benefits of point of sale systems make it an essential business investment. The type of retail software a small business chooses depends on the type of business, size of the business, amount of sales, and the type and amount of inventory.

Point of sale systems allow for better management of a business, improve customer satisfaction, and helps increase sales. With POS, businesses are able to run a more effective and efficient operation.

Improving Your Business with Quality Retail Equipment

Introduction

There are many ways to improve your business. Anything that makes your business more efficient improves your business. Similarly, anything that makes it cheaper to run, more cost effective or better in terms of customer focus is something that could be said to improve your business. One great way to improve your business is to install retail point of sale equipment that is of a high quality. To see what is meant by that, read the example given below.

Point of Sale Equipment

One particular example of quality equipment is point of sale equipment. Point of sale refers to the area of your business during which the actual selling transaction takes place. In a physical store, this would be the cashier’s desk whilst in an online payment store it would be the checkout screen that a person actually goes through in order to pay for the product and arrange delivery or download depending on the particular parameters of the product they are purchasing. An improvement in this area has the potential to greatly improve a customer’s experience when dealing with your business. That in turn ends up improving the intangible customer focus rating that your business gets and therefore ends up improving your business in an overall sense.

Point of sale equipment in a physical store would be anything that the cashier uses to check customers out, but in the basic sense it refers to a barcode scanner and its accompanying computer terminal. By utilizing a database of items and attaching a barcode number and price tag to each item in that database, you can use the scanner to scan a barcode on a product and instantly get its value. Rather than having to add everything up manually on a calculator and then multiply by the tax rate, the software can do it all at a fraction of the speed and get the customer our quicker. Likewise, utilizing online checkout software instead of e-mail for purchase and delivery orders over a website can help customers pay quicker and get their product quicker and that in turn will give them a better opinion of your business.

Customer focus is not the only benefit that you can get from using point of sale equipment in your business. You can actually get cost benefits as well. This might seem untrue because of the cost associated with upgrading a point of sale equipment package, but consider the fact that you are only thinking of the up front cost in that scenario. When you upgrade your point of sale equipment, you are decreasing the amount of time it takes to check an individual customer out and therefore increasing the long term cost effectiveness of your checkout system. More people can be checked out with fewer employee work hours and for that reason most point of sale equipment upgrades will pay for themselves over the long term. If you want your business to grow in the big picture, it is therefore important to ensure that you have high quality point of sale equipment installed.

Adjusting the Picture on Customer Focus

At first glance, big picture thinking and customer focus would seem to be mutually exclusive terms. After all, the first phrase connotes a farsighted, panoramic view of business, while the second implies an intense, laser-beam-like concentration on the customer. Yet as revealed in Magnifying Customer Focus: A Study of Current Trends and Future Possibilities 2006-2016, a global study commissioned by American Management Association and conducted by The Human Resource Institute, the terms are not only compatible, they are inseparable.

The study finds that customer focus is a top strategic concern for many businesses today and is ranked as one of the most important needs concerning issues ranging from leadership challenges to ethical behavior and innovation. Yet it also reveals that there is a wide disparity between what activities companies practice when it comes to customer focus and what they should be practicing.

The study asked respondents to rank a variety of strategic actions in each of five areas environment/culture, communications, HR practices, measurement and organizational practices in terms of what their companies are doing now and then to rank those same actions in terms of what their companies should be doing. Here is a closer look at the results for each of the five areas.

In environment/culture, having the support of top management ranked number one in both the should-do and doing-it-now categories. On the surface this would appear to be a heartening result leadership is doing what it should be doing.

But that good news is undercut by the number two should-do action: having leaders set the example with customer-focused behaviors. This is only number four in the doing-it-now category, meaning that while leadership may nominally support customer focus, it is not necessarily supporting it with its actions. Perhaps that helps explain why including customers in our corporate value statements ranked number two in the doing-it-now category but only number six in the should-do category; mission statements are all well and good, but its action that counts.

In the communications area, Magnifying Customer Focus finds that companies are falling short of communicating the customer focus message internally. Respondents ranked the action of having an internal plan in place to communicate customer insights number four in the should-do category, but only number seven in the doing-it-now category, suggesting that many companies are missing this crucial component. Its important to note that this doesn’t simply mean leadership handing down memos. It means employees at all levels of the organization must share their perspective and facilitate feedback from the customer so the company can get a true picture of the state of its customer service.

Companies are placing too much emphasis on market share as an indicator of customer satisfaction, according to respondents results in the area of measurement. Regularly measuring market share ranked third in the doing-it-now category, but eighth in the should-do category, strongly suggesting that respondents believe this particular metric is of little value when it comes to gauging customer satisfaction. Bain & Co.s Fred Reich held has gone even further in questioning the relevance of market share as a reliable measurement of customer satisfaction. Reichheld maintains that although companies may capture market share and generate considerable revenue from dissatisfied customers, it is actually more costly than profitable in the long run to do so.

When it comes to HR, expecting employees to anticipate customer needs ranked number one in the doing-it-now category and number three in the should-do category. It seems that while the respondents believe this strategic action is important enough to be included in the top three of actions that should be taken, it is not the overall most important action. That distinction belongs to providing customer-oriented employee training, an action that ranked number one in the should-do category and number three in the doing-it-now category, a surprising result considering the number of customer service training programs currently in place. The takeaway from this seems to be that while companies may think that they’re addressing customer service training needs, they are in reality falling far short.

While the organizational practices area is a broadly defined subgroup with substantial overlap with the other four areas, it did produce some interesting results of its own. For example, responding to demands for customization and personalization ranked eighth in the doing-it-now category but ranked only twentieth in the should-do category. Customization and personalization have been hot topics lately, with many proclaiming them the next big thing, but clearly the survey respondents consider them overrated as a customer focus issue.

Conversely, the tactic of being customer-focused at all customer touch points, not just sales training and customer service ranked fourth in the should-do category and twelfth in the doing-it-now category, revealing a large disparity between its perceived importance and the extent to which its executed.

That point an urgent reminder that customer focus needs to be instilled throughout the organization and not isolated in one or two departments serves well to sum up the entire survey.

Car Insurance Tips For International Students

When you are an international student studying in the US, it can be a bit confusing with the new culture and possibly even a new language. Often the simplest things can be difficult to get the hang of. Things like car insurance can be a whole new challenge when you are not familiar with the process or the rules.

If you`ll be driving in the country you plan to study in, you will want to have car insurance. Most students are on a budget anyway and having to deal with the cost of an accident, no matter how minor is usually a big dent in the budget, particularly if you were at fault.

- Look for an auto insurance provider that doesn’t penalize international students. Many companies will insist on a minimum of 3 years US driving experience in order to qualify for lower rates and higher coverage. Since the majority of international students have little or no experience driving in the States, they will end up paying more for less coverage. A very few insurance companies will count foreign driving experience and offer lower rates and deductibles.

- While liability is the minimum requirement by law, it`s a good idea to find out how much more you`ll pay for collision insurance, as well as comprehensive. Liability covers your passengers or property that you damage in an accident, collision will cover repairs to your vehicle if you crash, even if the accident was your fault. Comprehensive insurance is meant to help you recover your financial losses if the vehicle is stolen or destroyed by means other than a car accident.

- Keep the age of your vehicle in mind. Older cars usually aren`t worth insuring for anything more than liability, since you would be better off replacing the vehicle than repairing it in most cases. Newer cars will need to be insured for more since it`s usually far cheaper to repair them than buy a new vehicle. The general rule of thumb is that a car older than 1989 should carry liability only.

- Look for fixed rates. Some car insurance companies will let you sign up for 6 months or 12 months, where your rates will not go up, even if you have an accident during that time. Obviously, the longer the term, the better.

- Make sure you have an up-to-date international driver`s license. This will allow you to drive both in your home country and in the US. Most international students have no need for an American driver`s license, so an international one should be fine. Just be sure that it is good for at least six months after your stay ends so you`ll be able to get the best car insurance possible.

- Bring all paperwork that could be necessary with you when you apply for car insurance. You`ll need proof that you haven`t had an accident in the previous 18-36 months for the best rates. All driving related paperwork will help you out when applying for car insurance and can drastically cut the waiting time, as well, since you won`t be trying to get your papers from your home country.

Car insurance for international students might be a bit tricky, but it mainly comes down to doing some research to find which companies will give you a break, even if you haven`t been driving in the States for the past three years. The prices and amount of coverage should be fair and not hiked up just because you are only temporarily in the country.

A wealth making system that gave us our freedom

by John Wallen

I got up from the campfire, and walked over to the field to get a better look at this beautiful northern sky. The stars were big and brighter than ever, thousands of them. It’s like a magic window to the universe opens when the sun goes down up here in this part of the country.

I try not to stay up to late, that?s hard to do when your with your good friends on a beautiful lake in the iron range of Ely. Another log on the fire tells me it’s time for another beverage, and then I’ll make my way back to my cabin, let the dogs out one more time, then will all call it a night.

I want to get up and take a walk in the morning. The road out front follows the lake for a couple of miles, and it feels good to get out after coffee and get some exercise before getting the boat ready for a day of walleye fishing. This lake is called Shagawa, and I always have good luck.

When the week is up we’ll head down to the north woods of Wisconsin for a few days and hang out in one of those parks. The weather is getting hot, we will probably put the fishing gear away for a while and find a remote sandy beach where we can go swimming and take in some trails.

All of us love the summer. We live for these months of the year. We have made a vow to make sure each of us make the money through out the year to have this freedom. Almost six years ago we encouraged and helped one another to make money in a home business using the internet.

This was the best decision we made. After a while we were leaving our going no where jobs where we got only one to two weeks vacation, and got serious making some plans. Now we’re all working from home, and as we kept putting our heads together we started making more money.

What we did was find a business that taught us how to market on the internet. This affiliate opportunity really blew us away, not only are we making a lot of money marketing the opportunity, but with the very unique products also. We are having so much fun it’s amazing.

We never have to wait for the company to cut us our checks, everything is directly deposited into our bank accounts. We don’t even bother putting our outdoor gear away, because we know one of us is going to find another place to go and explore. We all figure life is short so why not go for it.

Private Education Loans To Supplement Federal Funding

by Donald Saunders

A lot of the Federal student loan schemes need no credit check to be carried out and provide a student with significant financial aid. These programs are however based upon need and frequently carry other criteria which might make it hard to qualify. Even if students do qualify, these loans only cover part of the total education bill in many cases. If students find themselves in that position then they may look to private alternative loans to make up the shortfall.

However, alternative educational loans also have their pros and cons. A credit check will almost always be required and this is no problem as long as you have a good credit history. The problem is that ‘good’ is very much a relative term and if it is not good enough then you will find yourself paying more than the normal rates of interest.

Beyond the stated interest rate there are other monetary implications of alternative loans. Fees are generally added on to nominal loan amounts and a reasonably small loan of $3,000 can easily have fees of 4% applied prior to distribution. This means that $120 of the total loan will not be seen by the borrower but nevertheless has to be paid back. As a guide, every 3% of fees is equal to 1% added to the normal interest rate.

But private loans do have certain advantages.

The first and perhaps most obvious one is that funds are available. Private lenders make a profit from the interest and fees which they charge and so have an interest in making money available to borrowers and will work very hard to see that each and every borrower qualifies for a loan. On the other hand Federal lenders adhere to an inflexible set of criteria and there is generally no real appeal if your application is turned down.

Not having to deal with that cold and all too frequently irrational bureaucracy is another benefit of alternative loans. Private lenders maintain customer service departments which are there specifically to deal with questions so that customers can get the answers which they need. Federal loan schemes generally have help available too but the answers one gets are hit or miss in terms of quality.

Other practical features that make private alternative loans especially desirable include:

The fact that neither parents nor students have to complete FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) forms and supply a mountain of additional documentation. Private loan applications have a tendency far simpler and indeed the entire process is easier. But, interest rates and fees might be higher or lower depending on the specific loan program.

The best alternative loans have zero fees and rates of interest which are about equal to the prime rate. This is the rate that banks charge one another or their biggest and most favored customers. Getting a rate at prime is a very good deal and getting a rate at 1% below prime is a great deal.

In order to obtain that sort of loan it is generally necessary for you to have a very good credit history or to apply for the loan with a co-signer to the loan who has a great credit history.

In the end, the only way to discover whether or not an alternative loan will satisfy your requirements is to go out into the market and take a look at precisely what is available.

Creating Super Charged Affiliate Sites

by Denise Pavilstein

The buzz about the potential revenue stream affiliate programs can provide is true. The only real difference between those who make them supercharged earning machines and those who don’t is a willingness on the part of some people to work the programs to their advantage.

One of the best ways for anyone to really see some great results from affiliate programs involves creating a website or blog that’s dedicated to the program’s niche. When creating a site or blog, however, the focus really needs to be on actually crafting a useful site. Producing a keyword stuffed, link farmed creation might pull in traffic, but it won’t likely result in conversions or return visits. If a site is useful, appealing and gives a reader something, however, great things can result.

As you go about setting up a site to target the set thing, make sure to include a way to capture visitors’ information. Making sure this is done through opt-in boxes and creating a mailing list can be a big key in realizing affiliate success. These lists might seem like more work than they’re worth, but they are not. The fact is they are very strong marketing tools that can be used again and again to mail visitors directly. To entice visitors to sign up, it’s a good idea to offer them something in return. Newsletters, product reports, coupons and so on can go a long way toward enticing visitors to sign on for the mailing string. Just make sure to include affiliate links in the freebies and also try to stick with relevant, useful information that fits the program’s theme.

A mailing list can be one of the most strong and affordable marketing tools a webmaster can create. A list enables direct contact, rather than waiting for visitors to return. It can be used to generate repeat traffic, to advertise products, services and promotions and even to simply share useful information about the niche theme the affiliate program fits into.

While mailing lists are great tools, they should not be the only concern when it comes to making affiliate programs pay off. The reality is the blog or website that’s created needs to be useful and relevant, as well. It is smart to focus a site on a topic or theme. When sites get too jumbled up with unrelated programs, the results can be bad for pulling in search engine traffic.

When crafting the site or blog, make sure it is keyword rich to pull in the desired traffic. Keyword research tools such as AdWords internal keyword tool or software like Ad Word Analyzer can be useful here. It’s smart to select good keywords, phrases and themes. Don’t go overboard with stuffing them into content, however. Relevancy and quality are top issues, or should be.

It is important that webmasters really take the time to build their sites and related content. Switching around metatags should not be the only effort. Optimization should take place on all ends and so should content building. If the content is keyword rich, useful and engaging, traffic is more likely to come. With traffic comes the opportunity for affiliate conversions. The key is making sure content is unique, keyword rich and of high quality. If creating it takes too much time, get a good copywriter to handle the job. Just get it done.

The simple fact of the matter is that content is important for garnering search engine attention and subsequent ranking. This can equate to traffic. Advertising can help, too, but it can get rather expensive. Focusing on content can be a more cost-effective means of boosting traffic and affiliate revenue. If supercharging the potential is desired, the key lies in the ability to capture traffic and develop relationships with visitors.
